Hempel UK sponsored the Royal Plymouth Corinthian Club / West Hoe Sailing Club Regatta this year.
Breezy conditions greeted competitors for the annual RPCYC/WHSC Hempel Regatta on Sunday 25 September.
Because of the huge squall which hit the fleet during the first race of the three race event, with a wind speed in excess of 35 knots and torrential rain, the Race officer decided to shorten the course to avoid any further pressure on the stretched safety boats.
Fortunately conditions quickly improved, and with the course reset further away from the Hoe, competitors in the three classes, Squibs, Yachts, and Dinghy Handicap enjoyed some of the best racing of the summer.
On completion competitors gathered at the RPCYC for the prize giving where prizes were presented by Steve Oliver, acting Rear Commodore Sailing of the RPCYC.
