Electric boats offer a refreshing and eco-conscious way to enjoy the water, presenting many advantages, compared to traditional boats. The environmental benefit is especially important for preserving the delicate ecosystems of lakes, rivers, and oceans.

Electric boats help protect aquatic life and water quality. 

Running out of battery when out off the water is always a hassle for electric boat owners. 

Our customer, Jachthaven De Toekomst, has tested Hempel's Silic One on their own electric power boat, Aluminium Linter Classic 600 with an E-propulsion 3kW electric outboard motor mounted in a bun together with Hempel distributor Friesche Olie-en Verfhandel (FOV).

They carried out three test runs to give some conclusive evidence; once when the boat was fouled, once after simply cleaning by spraying and then finally with Silic One on the hull. 

All trips were carried out in two directions, 180 degrees to each other to compensate for any influence of wind. The minimum and maximum speed was noted and the average speed per test created. 

The results clearly show that there is a notable increase in speed at a given power consumption, meaning that with Silic One you either go faster for the same power, or use less power to get the same speed as an un-coated hull. Of course we all know that an un-coated hull will soon be fouled and create unwanted drag, which is not an option especially for electric boats.

So with Silic One on electric boat, you can get a significant range increase for the same battery capacity, meaning you go further. 

Considering all of the above, Silic One and electric boats are a perfect match.
